Here at Waikanae School we like to support the efforts of World Vision and their global endeavour to help others less fortunate than ourselves. Over the years we have had many participants who have had some amazingly creative ways to raise money. We have been lucky enough to attend the World Vision Intermediate Reward days too which is a fantastic day of learning and celebration. Come and see Mrs Cameron in Room 10 if you would like to be part of the 40 hour famine this year.

World Vision Rewards Day 2014
Maddie, Nathan, Nicholas and Teneka attended the World Vision Leadership Rewards Day over in Lower Hutt. It was a great day with lots of valuable activities and lessons. The children were surprised with Hurricane Ardie Savea who joined us for a wee chat and photos. From the schools who attended the day a combined amount of $75,630.75 was raised in the 40 hour famine this year! An amazing amount of money. We got to hear about where and what it is used for.
| A tent pole was placed on the fingers of each group and they had to work as a team to lower themselves into a seated position from standing. They weren't allowed to let the pole fall. |
| Seth Le Leu - Chief Advisor, International Development and HEA telling us about his time in Rwanda and Niger. |
